Here is a million dollar question right now: Is Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Real Madrid for Italian club Juventus?

According to the report of the British newspaper The Guardian, Ronaldo reportedly agreed to a four-year, 30 million Euros to leave the reigning UEFA Champions Real Madrid to join the Italian club Juventus.

The report said that Ronaldo spoke with Juventus chairman Andre Agnelli to indicate his desire to sign with the Italian club, now Juventus believing that a deal for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner could be executed.

“If it happens, it will be a new chapter and a new challenge in his brilliant career,” said Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes in the Portuguese newspaper The Record, quoted on The Guardian report.

”If Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Real Madrid, he will remain eternally grateful to the club, the president, all the staff without exception, as well as the Madrid fans throughout the world,” Mendes added.

Still, Juventus need to negotiate for the release of Ronaldo since the Portuguese is currently under contract with Real Madrid. The Italian club reportedly offered Real Madrid 100 million Euros to release Ronaldo from his five-year contract with Real Madrid which was signed back in November 2016.

Prior to this development, Ronaldo already expressed his days with Real Madrid are numbered after he led the Spanish club to claim the UEFA Champions League trophy against Liverpool.

“In (the) coming days, there’ll be an answer about my future,” said Ronaldo via Fox Sports, quoted on a Sports Illustrated article.

“It has been very nice playing for Real Madrid,” Ronaldo added.

On the other hand, Ronaldo’s teammate Croatia team captain Luka Modric does not believe that Ronaldo is leaving Real Madrid for Juventus.

“He means a lot and hopefully he will stay,” Modric quoted in an article by British newspaper The Independent.

”I think he’s going to stay, that’s my opinion.”It would be very good if he stayed because I can’t imagine him in any other European team,” Modric pointed out.

Wayne Rooney officially signs with MLS team DC United

It’s official.

Veteran campaigner Wayne Rooney will continue his football career on the other side of the Atlantic after signing a three- and- half -year contract with Major League Soccer (MLS) team DC United.

“It is fantastic to be joining D.C. United at such an exciting time in the club’s history,” said Rooney via The Associated Press on his unveiling as the new member of DC United.

“Moving to America and MLS fulfills another career ambition for me. I have the hunger to be a success here and will give D.C. 100 percent — as I have always done for every team I have ever played for.” Rooney added.

With Rooney signing, the MLS once again had another prominent campaigner on its fold, joining Zlatan Ibrahimovic, currently playing for the Los Angeles Galaxy.

“He is a world-class player and he elevates those around him, both through his work ethic and winning mentality,” DC United General Manager Dave Kasper said via the same Associated Press article on the England all-time leading scorer. “We are beyond excited to add someone of Rooney’s caliber.”

Meantime, former Premier League star and ex-LA Galaxy standout David Beckham believes Rooney made a good move in leaving Premier League club Everton for DC United.

“I think it’s the right move for him,” Beckham said via the same Associated Press report. “I think that it’s exciting for the fans. People that watch the game and understand the game in the U.S., they know who Wayne Rooney is, they know who Zlatan is, they know these big players. So to actually see them perform in their league is something that’s special.”

DC United coach Ben Olsen hoping Rooney’s arrival will help the faltering campaign of United since they are in the bottom of the MLS Eastern Conference standings with 11 points.

“We got him to be a soccer player and to elevate us on the field,” said Olsen via Washington Post. “By looking at the training today, he’s going to do that. I don’t know why that would be a surprise to anyone. He’s an elite soccer player.”

Rooney will make his DC United debut against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC on July 14th on United’s brand new Audi Stadium in Washington DC.
