Four clubs stay undefeated as the second matchday of the UEFA Champions League Group Stage unfolds from October 1st to 2nd.

Paris Saint-Germain is one of the clubs that remained undefeated in defeating Galatasaray 1-0 with Mauro Icardi found the back of the net in the 52nd minute.

“We won 1-0 again. It was very tight, but we deserved it,” PSG coach Thomas Tuchel told RMC Sport, quoted in an article of ESPN. “It was a difficult match. Galatasaray played with courage and intensity. We were unable to score twice in the opening 20 minutes. The team put in a huge performance. They fought together and we are very happy about that.’’

“Our midfield three were very good. I really like this mix. They are balanced, intense and reliable. It is good to fight, but also to play, Tuchel added as The Red and Blues now lead the  Group A table with six points.

Real Madrid and Club Brugge battled into a 2-2 draw to share a point in another Group A fixture with Sergio Ramos and Casemiro scored for the Spanish club during the 55th and 85th minute respectively while Emmanuel Dennis had a brace for the German club in 9th and 39th minute.

Bayern Munich beat last year’s runner-up Tottenham Hotspur 7-2 in Group B with Serge Gnarby scored four goals that were recorded during the 53rd, 55th, 83rd and 88th minute. Robert Lewandoski scored in the 45th and 87th minute for a brace while Joshua Kimmick added in the 15th minute.

“I never dreamed I’d score four goals,” Gnabry said in another article of ESPN with his clubs now holds the Group B leadership with six points. “The pressure helped. My father told me I had to play well.”

Red Star Belgrade got their first full points in the tournament with a 3-1 win over Olympiacos with Milos Vulic, Nemanja Milunovic and Richmond Boakye scored a goal each for the Serbian club during the 62nd, 87th and 90th minute respectively to claim the second spot in Group B.

Manchester City remained spotless in the tournament and holds the top spot in Group C with a 2-0 decision over Dinamo Zagreb with Raheem Sterling and Philip Folden punch a goal each for the Premier League in the 66th minute and the fifth minute into stoppage time respectively.

“They defended so well, even the goal from Raheem the defender was there. I didn’t expect them to play so deep, they only shot on target at set-pieces, but they did what they did so well,”  Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said via ESPN about the performance of Sterling.

In another Group C fixture, Shakhtar Donetsk registered their first three points of the tournament in defeating Atalanta 2-1.

Atletico Madrid and Juventus shared the Group D leadership with four points after defeating their respective opponents.

Atletico Madrid defeated Lokomotiv Moscow, 2-0 with Joao Felix and Thomas scored for the Spanish club during the 48th and 58th minute respectively.

Juventus, on the other hand, blanks Bayer Leverkusen, 3-0 with Gonzalo Higuain, Federico Bernardichi and Cristiano Ronaldo fired a goal each during the 17th, 62nd and 89th minute respectively.

Napoli meanwhile is the unlikely leader in Group E with four points after they earned a point in a goalless draw against Genk.

Defending champion Liverpool scored their first win and first three points in the Champions League this season at the expense of  Red Bull Salzburg,4-3 to keep at the close with Napoli.

Sadio Mane and Andrew Robertson scored in 9th and 25th minute respectively while Mohamed Salah added in the 36th and 69th minute for a brace.

“It’s better to learn the lessons during the game than talk about it after it,” Liverpool Jurgen Klopp said via ESPN. “I thought we were outstanding in the first 30 minutes, then the Salzburg system changed and we lost the ball so that caused us problems.

FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund shared the leadership of Group F with four points in recording victories in their latest assignment with FC Barcelona manhandled Inter Milan, 2-1 via Luis Suarez brace(58th and 84th minute) while Borussia Dortmund scored a 2-0 over Slavia Prague with Achraf Hakimi brace(35th and 89th minute) was the key for the German squad to achieve the victory.

Zenit St. Petersburg holds the Group G leadership with four points after defeating Benfica 3-1 while Lyon earned their first full point of the tournament with a 2-0 shutout against RB Leipzig.

Ajax remained undefeated and holds the Group H leadership with six points after they beat Valencia, 3-0 with Hakim Ziyech, Quincy Promes, and Donny van de Beek punch a goal each during the 8th, 34th and 67th minute respectively.

Chelsea listed their first win in the tournament a 2-1 victory over Lille with Tammy Abraham found the back of the net in the 22nd minute while William added in the 78th minute.

The next matchday will take place from October 22nd to 23rd.
